Tokyo Rotary Club 86th Anniversary Meeting & Family Party
¡ÈAddress from the President¡É

October 18, 2006

Mr. Yoshihiko Miyauchi,
President of the Rotary Club of Tokyo
¡¡

¡¡It is a great pleasure for me to express my gratitude and extend my heartfelt welcome to all our guests who have come to attend this Tokyo Rotary Club 86th Anniversary Meeting and Family Party. We are here today to congratulate the club¡Çs 86th anniversary, but I want to pay respect to the contribution of the resources and talents from all our members, otherwise, the club could not pass on its traditions to the future.

¡¡William B. Boyd, RI President, selected this year¡Çs theme, ¡ÈLead the Way.¡É Bringing a rosy future to this world, where ethical hurdles stand in the way, needs the power of the Rotarians to change the world, one positive act at a time. It is a strong affirmation of his belief that this will help change the global society. His words also encourage us, Rotarians.

¡¡With support from the members, the Rotary Club of Tokyo will implement this RI theme and progress towards the enrichment of life at the club through its unique features. I would like all members to achieve our goals, ¡ÈMaking A Circle of Friends¡É, and ¡ÈJoy of Service¡É in a positive manner. Carrying them out basically requires the cooperation of you and your family. I want to call for you to actively involve the members around you, getting to know each other, and becoming a good friend to one another. If, for example, you can make two acquaintances or friends on this occasion, I think this Anniversary party will become meaningful.

¡¡In closing though, I would like to convey my sincere gratitude for everyone involved in the preparation of the party today. Especially for Mr. Tomokazu Kamio, Director of Club Service, and Mr. Shigeomi Tsumura, Vice President of Fellowship & Family, and all other officers and staff. I want to truly thank them for their leadership on this get-together for the Club¡Çs 86th anniversary.

¡¡Today, at the invitation of Mr. Tsumura, an Argentine Tango will be performed. Please enjoy it, and have a wonderful time with all people present. Thank you very much for your listening.
