Table Speech

¡ÈTokyo Rotary Club 88th Anniversary Meeting and Family Party¡É

October 22, 2008

Mr. Mitsuhiro Kurokawa,
President of Rotary Club of Tokyo

¡¡With the support of all of you, almost 3 and one half months have passed.

¡¡This year, we have taken a fresh new look at the meaning of the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation Program, and in the President¡Çs address in July, we stated that we would like to expand our cooperation as the Rotary Club of Tokyo, which created this program that we can be very proud of.

¡¡In the Yoneyama Monthly Meeting held on October 1, we had requested a table speech of Mr.Ji (a lawyer from China), a former Yoneyama Scholar, and subsequently held a club forum with the participation of Ms. Jon (from South Korea, who is studying while battling with a debilitating disease called aplastic anemia), Mr.Omer Abdin (from Sudan with total loss of sight), and Mr. Gao (from China), a current Yoneyama Scholar.

At the club forum, with about 60 members in attendance, we had the privilege of listening to the most impressive speeches on how the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation Program has been of great value to us.
I am also reminded of the great importance of the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation Program through the speeches of Yoneyama Scholors. As a member of the Rotary Club of Tokyo, I give my heartfelt respect to all those who have been involved in the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation.
I feel very proud of this program if it can be of any help to such Yoneyama Scholars, represented by those who have spoken to us today. I would like to provide further support for the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation Program.
