The 52nd Rotary International Convention

May 1961

The 52th Annual Convention of Rotary International took place from May 28,1961, for 5 days with the Tokyo Rotary Club as host. R. I. President Ed. McLaughlin presided, and on the first day H. I. H. the Emperor of Japan was welcomed to address the gathering. Rotarians from more than 70 nations attended with their families, and the total registration was 23,366, of which 16,011 were Japanese, setting a new record for Convention attendance.
